School for the Hearing Impaired run by Badhit Bal Vikas Samiti, Ajmer was established in the year 1961 for education of hearing impaired children. The main initiative in establishing the school was taken by Late Dr.S.P. Wanchoo (Director, Medical & Health, Rajasthan) along with the help of other likeminded people and the generous public of Ajmer.

This special school is the only Secondary School in this area imparting quality education to the Hearing Impaired Children.

Along with regular education which is provided free of cost, several vocational teaching facilities like computer education, tailoring classes, dyeing, painting, beautician, art & craft and cooking classes etc. are also being provided to the children free of cost with the objective of making the physically challenged students self dependent and to earn their livelihood and live their life respectfully.

Moreover, besides education the children are provided with several games facilities like Cricket, Volley Ball, Slides etc. etc. in the big open play ground inside the school premises, while other indoor facilities like Table Tennis, Chess, and Caroms etc. are also available.

The school is very well known for overall quality education and children come from several villages of various districts of Rajasthan and all generally belong to a very-very poor section of the society. 

Presently the strength of the school is 195 out of which 81 boys and 50 girls (Total 131) have been provided hostel facilities in the school campus while 43 boys and 21 girls are day scholars. For the day scholars free bus service is provided.
